Deena and i were just talking about her psychological strength of "Woo."
among our other thoughts...:
N3rmal: either that or your turning into an owl
...
Deena: ohhhhh that's it
Deena: i'm turning into an owl
N3rmal: ::imagines deena chewing on a cute but dead little mousy::
N3rmal: stopit deena, that's gross
Deena: gosh, why didn't i see that before?
Deena: ew ew ew!!!
N3rmal: saga can't be that bad
Deena: i would be a vegetarian owl.
N3rmal: LOL
N3rmal: hahaha
Deena: no voles and muskrats for me
N3rmal: hahahahhahahaha
N3rmal: muskrats just sound stinky anyway
Deena: are you saying voles sound somewhat appeitzing?
i personally always wished i could transform into a bald eagle.
but we all have our preferences ;)

i'm already seeing new faces around the Village, and classes haven't even started (except for law students.) i can't wait till it gets a little warmer and i can go out in the courtyard with jeff and justin and etc. so we can hack again. hopefully, we'll get to know more people that way - it worked this fall.
i've also been deliberating about moving the "furniture" (bed and computer desk) around in my room. but i think it's been settled that... i won't because if i did wat i want to do there wouldn't be much room to maneuver around in here. as soon as i get my last things put away, i can put on my bedding and sleep on my bed tonight... but darn that couch is good sleepin...ok, i'm really shivery here in my pj's, so i'm going to take a shower.
yessss!! water pressure!!
noooo!! extremely hard-water!!

It's a new year, and i decided to honor my newest friends at Washburn with a "Best Of the Year" post.
Jeff:
highlight: Jeff's Smile when Christian (cousins amalie and ricky's son) hugged him for the first time at the Topeka Bible Church pumpkin orchard thingy.
Lotsa personality, smart, great humor - plus he lets me watch him play world of warcraft whenever i want! (and that can be alot)
song: Dresden Dolls - Coin Operated Boy (i would sit in his car for a quarter of an hour waiting for it to play on the radio)
Justin:
highlight: Justin saying "It's the Boulevard Wheat talking", and also threatening to hurt micah for being called "eating guy."
Can find God working in anything, actually likes those cheesy email fowards, showed me that it's the little things in life that TRULY keep someone going. great friend, in that he has given me more in our friendship than i have ever asked of him. sees the best in me, urges me to Work, and encourages me to work on parts of mySelf that i truly believed were un-salvageable.
song: something country?--but he does like my Infected Mushroom, which redeems him.
Jason:
highlight: making fun of weird girls on hotornot ("don't you think she looks like a midget?" "oh definitely").
Can impersonate celebrity figures like nobody else, watches news figures, comedians, actors, etc. just to get their part down, is just cool cause he's gonna be in the FBI
song: something rappy... other than that, i'm not sure.
Luke:
highlight: hearing him answer his phone when it's his friend calling - he says the SAME thing every time and it cracks me up: "What's up, F***er?" (he says it so matter-of-factly it's hilarious).
Can transform from being a 30-something year-old room hermit, into an extroverted party animal just by mentioning "dinner with the guys" to him. held to the Atkins diet for... well longer than i could have before finally showing his human side and relenting.
song: Van Halen - Eruption
Shelly (spelling?):
highlight: eating with Justin and I whenever possible - lots of good talks with her.
With Justin and I, one of the "Applebee's crew" (although we didn't all work at the same time). One of the few (i call them "elite") college-age girls i know who is actually mature; a true model for her gender.
Song: The Ataris - In This Diary (she heard the Ataris playing in my car once and i believe she really liked them - and yes, i'm still gonna give you a cd of their music Shelly!!)
Amalie, Ricky & Christian:
highlights: getting to hang at their place, getting to help them fix up their new house, getting beat by both in Taekwondo, having more fun with cousins than i would have thought before ;), and getting to hang with Christian, the most well-behaved little boy i've EVER met.
Amalie and Ricky are an interesting phenomenon to me; one is my cousin on my mom's side, who used to be quite the onery little'un, but now is... still onery, but definitely fun to be around. Ricky, amazingly resourceful, is a fascinating person to me because of his strength (ha, not cause of amalie, no insult intended). plus, Ricky is quite amazing to watch in the Taekwondo class. Christian is a little person that can mystically elicit big grins from the hardest of adults. (and he's really funny too)
Song: DJ Shadow - Organ Donor (extended overhaul)
-special thanks goes to Jeff's roommates who put up with me barging into their apartment at all hours to bother Jeff, admire Justin #1's superhero toys, talk "martial arts" with Josh, or hit on John (oh baby); my teachers, especially Dr. Smith, Dr. Barr, and Dr. Tucker who were exceedingly understanding and even supportive of silly Thaddaeus during his hard times.
--EXTRA special thanks goes to someone who doesn't even go to Washburn, but dwells in my heart enough to be there in person, and that is Katy, my favorite person (human person... see next thanks for the real favorite) in the whole wide world. everyone at Washburn hears about you, whether they want to or not, cause you are still a big part in my life. (i love you!!)
---the biggest thanks goes to Jesus for getting me through everything. it's strange but true that no matter how hard things are, no matter where my hope is and no matter how thin my faith is, for some reason, He is the one who gets me through the Hardest Things - Things that no human could get me through.
