"I had always thought of woman as possessing those delicate qualities of mind and soul that made her in these respects far superior to man. . . . Now the soft-voiced gentle woman of my reverent worship has all but vanished. In her place has come the woman who thinks that her chief success in life lies in making herself as much as possible like man--in dress, voice, and actions. . . . The world has experienced many tragedies, but to my mind the greatest tragedy of all is the present economic condition wherin women strive against men, and in many cases actually succeed in usurping their places in the professions and in industry. This growing tendency of women to overshadow the masculine is a sign of a deteriorating civilization. Perhaps the male in human society is useles. If women are beginning to feel this way about it--and there is striking evidence at hand that they do--then we are entering upon the cruelest period of the world's history. Our civilization will sink to a state like that which is found among the bees, ants, and other insects--a state wherin the male is ruthlessly killed off. In this matriarchal empire which will be established the female rules. As the female predominates, the males are at her mercy. The male is considered important only as a factor in the general scheme of the continuity of life." (Nikola Tesla 1924)
Fascinating.

i have a riddle, friends.
but no cheating! no google, no searching period!
you may use only the Bible itself - and no fancy one that lets you cheat!
i'm using Young's Literal Translation, to make it a little difficult, in case you've memorized it; now it will sound a little different.

"Jehovah possessed me -- the beginning of His way, before His works since then. From the age I was anointed, from the first, from former states of the earth. In there being no depths, I was brought forth, In there being no fountains heavy [with] waters, before mountains were sunk, before heights, I was brought forth. While He had not made the earth, and out-places, and the top of the dusts of the world. In His preparing the heavens I [am] there, in His decreeing a circle on the face of the deep, in His strengthening clouds above, in His making strong fountains of the deep, in His setting for the sea its limit, and the waters transgress not His command, in His decreeing the foundations of earth, then I am near Him, a workman, and I am a delight -- day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times, rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth, and my delights [are] with the sons of men."

to solve, you must include where this is from. you have to find it on your own; no using concordances or etc. (cheating).
when you have it, or give up, comment - but don't look there 'till you're ready; someone might have solved it already.

ya know, brothers and sisters, God is not just a big teddy bear that we hug when we are sad, frightened, or worried. He's not the mall, where you go hang out once a week with friends or family (like at church) and leave when you're "satisfied".
being a Christian = "CHANGE"
heard this one before? it goes like this:
"Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.' "
let me tell you the context of this verse, which resides in the 16th chapter of Matthew.
After the disciple named Peter acknowledged that he believed that Jesus was the Jew's promised one, the Messiah (for the people weren't sure who this Jesus was, but God had revealed to Peter that this Man was the Son of God), Jesus began to tell his disciples that "He [Jesus] must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day." (v. 21) Peter took Jesus aside and said, "Dude, this can't happen to You! No way!"'
then Jesus said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men [instead]." (v. 23)
the next verse is the one i quoted at the top.
it is followed by these,
"25For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."
do you see the contrast between the "things of God" and the "things of men"?
let me spell it out in black and white:
1.) Peter says, "yeh, you're the Christ" and Jesus says, "God revealed this to you" (for many this is salvation)
2.) Jesus says, "hard times will come for me" and Peter says "no they shouldn't!" and he is rebuked by Jesus
3.) Jesus says, "if you want to come after Me, then LOSE YOUR LIFE FOR MY SAKE"
4.) Jesus underlines, italicizes, and bold-prints his words with this reasoning, "WHO CARES ABOUT THIS LIFE??!! YOU KNOW IT WON'T LAST!!! "
Brothers and Sisters -- do you know "change"? do you know that difficulties happen because that's the way it is supposed to be? what kind of happy-little-elves-in-the-peaceful-magical-forest-land are you living in? sounds imaginary to me. life is rough, and it's not because God has turned His back on you. you know what the Best all-around advice i heard when my heart was at it's drowning point? "Suck It Up"
God made us warriors, not quitters. just... please be fighting for the right side.
Read 1 Peter chapter four. Meditate on it. Pause and savor each verse, and let the Holy Spirit talk to you during and after it.
Do it.
